One of the great debates in the NBA today is the question of if whether or not LeBron James is better than former Los Angeles Lakers star, Kobe Bryant. Recently, Kyrie Irving gave his opinion on the matter.

One of the popular debates this offseason has been the one about former Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. As two of the best players in the last two decades, the debate about who is better has certainly been a good one.

For some people, the debate is simple. Since Bryant has been able to win five rings, he is a better player than James. While James does have three rings of his own, he also has five losses in the NBA Finals. People that are Pro-Kobe in the debate will bring that up rather quickly.

Considering that James is still playing, it is a bit hard to properly judge the two. James has an impressive Finals appearance streak that is still active, and he very well could add a few more titles before his career is over.

Recently, James’ ex-teammate, Kyrie Irving, was on ESPN First Take talking about the debate. Here’s what he had to say.

Seeing Irving choose Bryant should come as no surprise to people. This offseason, Irving demanded to be traded by the Cleveland Cavaliers, as there were obviously some issues for him there.

Now, Irving will be playing for the Boston Celtics, who the Cavaliers just beat in the Eastern Conference Finals. These two teams are certainly on a collision course in the NBA Playoffs next season, and you know that James will be motivated to beat Irving.

While that new rivalry will be entertaining, the debate between Kobe or LeBron will continue to go on. Even though Irving is the latest supporter of Bryant, there is still a lot of time before we will truly be able to debate the topic.
