EL SEGUNDO, CA- JULY 18: General Manager, Rob Pelinka greets with Ivica Zubac /

Goal No. 2: Second Chance Points and Free Throws

To me, the difference between the winning team and the losing team, given every team has players who can score, is second chance points and free throws.

If the ball doesn’t go in the first time, Zubac should not transition so fast, but should surprise everyone and go for the second chance points. With his height and weight, he has all the advantages. In my mind this is a MUST for our beloved Croatian big man.

Goal No. 3 Confidence on the Court

This summer we did not see the confident brazen Zub we know and love. I don’t have any clue as to why, if he was hurt, if he was getting used to new teammates, or if he was asked to take a back seat. It doesn’t matter, what does matter is his confidence.

Zubac should know that he is loved by his fans, and that will not go away, we all want to see him do well and be successful. To do that, he will need bravado, he will need to show dominance on the court. That only comes with confidence, and we are here to help, but I hope he digs deep this season and knows that he has what it takes to be a dominant big man in the NBA.

Dominant, confident, in your face, scary on defense, that’s what he needs to do. The more blocks he has the better the team will do and it energizes the offense and the fans when he becomes ZUBLOCKA. Cannot wait to see who he will become this season, and my guess is that he is going to step it up and learn from Andrew Bogut and Brooke Lopez, two great veterans. GO LAKERS! GO ZUUUUUUB!
