With training camp here, the Los Angeles Lakers might have a few players that are limited due to injuries.
With the start of the preseason less than a week away, the Los Angeles Lakers have their shorten training camp this week to prepare for it. This will be very important few days for the Lakers, as there are a lot of new players looking to get adjusted to their new team and system.
However, the Lakers do have two players that might be a bit limited in training camp because of injuries. Both Brook Lopez and rookie Josh Hart are expected to be limited in training camp. Lopez is dealing with a lingering back issue that we have heard about for the past few days, and Josh Hart has a hamstring issue.
As a veteran, training camp isn’t as important for Lopez as it is for Hart. Lopez is a proven player in the NBA, and he will be the starting center for the Lakers this season. For Hart, missing time in training camp isn’t a good thing.
Hart was selected by the Lakers with the final pick in the first round of the NBA Draft this season, but we didn’t get to see him in the Las Vegas Summer League for most of the tournament due to an injury. Now, Hart doesn’t appear to be healthy to start training camp either.
As a great two-way player in college, Hart had a chance to start the season with a decent role on the Lakers. However, him missing time in the Summer League and now possibly in training camp isn’t good.
Since the Lakers do have a good amount of depth on the wing, Hart was going to be battling with some other players for potential minutes. If he isn’t able to suit up in camp, he will likely be on the bench to start the season.

Even though both Lopez and Hart might miss some training camp time, it’s good that neither injury is considered to be serious. In the tough Western Conference, the Lakers have to stay healthy.
