Recent Lakers rumors are that Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kuzma played extremely well in inter-squad scrimmages at training camp.

With the first preseason game almost here, recent Lakers rumors have emerged about how things are going at training camp.

While some parts of training camp have been open to the media, other sessions have been closed. Recent reports from Wednesday nights scrimmage are that both Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kuzma played extremely well together.

This should come as no surprise, as Ball and Kuzma looked like they had instant chemistry in the Las Vegas Summer League. Together, the two were arguably the best duo in the tournament, and that does appear to be a fluke.

Seeing Ball lead a group of non-starters to a 3-0 record in scrimmages is extremely impressive. This goes to show how Ball is not only able to make the players around him better, but also about the improved depth that the Lakers have. As we saw in the Summer League, Ball is capable of making players around him better.

One of the players that were reportedly playing well with Ball was Kuzma. As an athletic forward, Kuzma fits really well with Ball, and the two appear to have great chemistry already. While we don’t know what the teams were, seeing Ball with all non-projected starters winning games is really encouraging.

For Kuzma, playing well in these scrimmages are going to be important for him. With some talented players at both forward positions, minutes are going to be hard to come by for Kuzma. However, performing well against the likes of Brandon Ingram, Luol Deng, Larry Nance, and Julius Randle will help force his way into the rotation.
