Lakers Rumors: Andrew Bogut expected back on court this week
Los Angeles Lakers Rumors: Center Andrew Bogut is expected to be back later this week and ready for the regular season according to head coach, Luke Walton.
Recent Los Angeles Lakers rumors involve veteran center, Andrew Bogut. The Lakers were the surprising landing spot for Bogut, as they signed him in mid-September. Bogut chose the Lakers over potential contenders such as the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics.
However, Bogut has yet to make an appearance with his new team. Bogut has battled plenty of injuries in his career, and that has continued during his short Lakers tenure.
Bogut was unable to participate early on in training camp because of visa issues. That kept Bogut sidelined from the beginning of the preseason as well but now has been sidelined with a groin issue.

Lakers fans are anxious to see Bogut take the court; they had to wait to see Brook Lopez take the court as well. The wait for Lopez was well worth it, as he played well in Lakers debut on Sunday against the Sacramento Kings. Fans are hoping to see the same impact from Bogut, but when will it be?
We may now have our answer. According to Serena Winters of Lakers Nation, we could see Bogut take the court later this week.
Head coach Luke Walton called Bogut’s groin injury not very serious, but expects him on the court later this week and be ready for the regular season.
This is excellent news for the Lakers. While watching the beginning of the preseason, it was evident that the Lakers missed a veteran presence. Lopez provided it against the Kings and it resulted in a win; they are hoping Bogut can bring more of the same.
While Lopez will bring a big boost offensively, Bogut will help on the other end of the court. Despite his injury problems and declining athleticism, Bogut is still a presence defensively. He will improve the team on that end of the court, and provides another playmaker and passer offensively.

With Bogut sidelined the Lakers have been experimenting with smaller lineups with Larry Nance Jr. and Julius Randle playing minutes at center. The results haven’t been great, so the Lakers will definitely welcome Bogut back into the lineup for some much-needed size.
