On Sunday, the Lakers finally saw the debut of Brook Lopez. After missing the first three games of the preseason with a lingering back injury, it was good to see Lopez in action for the first time on the Lakers.

Considering that it was his first preseason game, Lopez looked pretty good for the Lakers. He totaled 12 points and three rebounds in 15 minutes of action. Even though he didn’t play much, Lopez was clearly the best player in the starting unit for the Lakers.

In the win, Lopez also showed off his range, as he was 2-for-2 from 3-point range. As shown last season, Lopez is able to step out and knock down these shots now. When Lonzo is back and healthy, having a center like Lopez that can space the floor is going to make his job a lot easier.

Considering that the Lakers don’t have too many shooters, Lopez being able to shoot the 3-point shot effectively this season is going to be important. So far, he is off to a good start. On Tuesday, expect to see a little more of Lopez in a tough matchup against the defensive-minded Jazz, as he should play closer to 20-25 minutes.
