The Los Angeles Lakers suffered a bad loss during their season opener against the Los Angeles Clippers. Who were three players who disappointed?
The season opener did not go as planned for the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night, as they suffered a bad loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. While the Lakers were without Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, they were clearly outmatched by the Clippers in this game.
In the loss, there were some positives, but the negatives certainly outweighed them. Despite the Clippers trading Chris Paul in the offseason, they appear to be a very good team once again. Blake Griffin was really able to shine against the Lakers, as they had no answer for the All-Star.
Griffin was hurting them in almost every way possible on the offensive end. The Lakers were able to play pretty well defensively as a team, but Griffin was certainly a matchup problem. In addition to Griffin playing well, DeAndre Jordan was a beast on the glass, grabbing 24 rebounds.
Since the Lakers lost by 16 points, there obviously wasn’t a lot of players that played well. This loss to the Clippers certainly lowered a lot of expectations for the Lakers, as this is clearly a team that is growing. With a lot of young players, the Lakers are going to have tough nights like this game against the Clippers. However, it will be important to see how these young players bounce back from bad losses.
With the season opener in the books, here are three players that disappointed in the loss to the Clippers.
