LOS ANGELES, CA – OCTOBER 19: Brandon Ingram /

– Brandon Ingram

Coming into the season, one of the players with a lot of expectations is second-year forward, Brandon Ingram. As a versatile player, Ingram has a lot of potential, but he still has a lot of work to do.

In a tough matchup against a pretty good defensive team in the Clippers, Ingram struggled. Coming into the season, there was some concern about Ingram’s struggles in the preseason, and he did not make anyone feel better after his season opener.

Ingram totaled 12 points on 3-for-15 shooting from the floor, as shooting the basketball continues to be a major issue. It is worth noting that Ingram did look a bit better in the fourth quarter, but the game was well out of reach at that time. Despite the struggles shooting, Ingram did total five rebound and four assists. Even though Ingram didn’t score well, it was nice to see him contribute in other aspects of the game.

Even though it was just one game, the lofty goal of 20 points per game seems unlikely for Ingram. He is still a young player that needs time to grow. While he might show some signs here and there, it will be important for him to continue to work on his game offensively.
