LOS ANGELES, CA – OCTOBER 19: Lonzo Ball

After losing to the Los Angeles Clippers in the season opener, the Los Angeles Lakers will be back in action on Friday night. Here are three players to watch.

The season opener for the Los Angeles Lakers did not as planned. On Thursday, the Los Angeles Clippers were able to defeat the Lakers rather easily. It became apparent pretty quickly that the Lakers were outmatched against the Lakers.

Chemistry appeared to be an issue for the Lakers, as their starting unit didn’t play a single minute together in the preseason. Building chemistry will certainly take time for the Lakers, as this is a young team with a lot of new faces.

Luckily for the Lakers, the second half of their back-to-back to start the season is a bit easier. On Friday night, the Lakers will be on the road against the Phoenix Suns. In their first game, the Suns were destroyed by the Portland Trail Blazers. While the Suns likely won’t be beaten that badly again, this game does present the Lakers with a good opportunity to earn their first win.

If the Lakers are going to beat the Suns, they will need a few players to play much better than against the Clippers. While a back-to-back to start the season isn’t ideal, the Lakers should be relatively fresh after being blown out. No player played over 31 minutes for the Lakers on Thursday, so they should be pretty fresh.

With their second game of the season already upon us, here are three players to watch for the Lakers against the Suns on Friday night.
