The Los Angeles Lakers were able to defeat the Washington Wizards in overtime. Here are three takeaways from the thrilling game.

On Wednesday night, the Los Angeles Lakers were able to win their second game of the season in thrilling fashion. Despite trailing by double-digits in the fourth quarter, the Lakers were able to rally back and force overtime.

This was the second game in a row that the Lakers saw themselves trailing but double figures only to erase the lead. However, this time they sealed the deal.

In the fourth quarter, the Lakers saw some big plays from multiple players, but it was Brandon Ingram who hit the shot to send them into overtime. On a drive to the basket, Ingram threw up a wild shot at the basket. However, he was able to control the tip in to tie the game.

The Lakers were able to secure the win in overtime thanks to some big plays on both ends of the court. Also, the Wizards missing free throws early in the overtime period certainly helped. Due to the tweets from Marcin Gortat earlier in the week, the Lakers were certainly motivated to win this game.

Even though the Lakers are a young team, there is clearly a lot of talent here. Close games like this against playoff teams will be very beneficial for the Lakers as they continue to grow together. With the Lakers now back to .500 with a 2-2 record, here are three takeaways from the game against the Wizards.
