Recently, Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton wanted the team to pick up the pace. Point guard Lonzo Ball agrees with him.

Through six games, the Los Angeles Lakers are currently 2-4 on the season. As expected, there have been some bright moments for the Lakers and also some ugly ones. With a lot of young players playing big minutes, this was too be expected.

Even though the Lakers are playing with one of the fastest paces in the NBA, Luke Walton wants them to be even faster. While playing fast does give the Lakers easy opportunities in transition, it has also led to some sloppy play at times.

The Lakers have been turning the ball over at a pretty high clip, and that is something that they need to improve on. Also, there shooting is likely more to blame than the pace that they have been playing at for their struggles.

Recently, Lonzo Ball agreed with his head coach and actually took the blame for the team not playing as fast as Walton would like to see.

These comments by Ball once again show him emerging as a leader for the Lakers both on and off the court. He appears to have no problem having the blame placed on him.

The Lakers trying to play with a faster pace is likely to hide their struggles shooting and also in the halfcourt. As one of the worst offensive teams in the league through six games, the Lakers have had a miserable time trying to get in a rhythm in their half-court offense. Also, their 3-point shooting has been poor as expected.

For now, playing with more speed might help the Lakers be competitive in games. However, they will need to improve in the half-court offense if they truly want to become a more consistent team on the offensive end.
