The New and Improved Brandon Ingram

As Brandon Ingram’s rookie season came to a close last year, Laker fans were filled with disappointment. The team finished with a record of 26-56 and the rookie was unable to provide help as he had a team-low of -0.3 win shares on the season.

The Duke product’s shooting was also a glaring concern as he completed the season with a 40/29/62 shooting line. This year, however, Ingram looks completely changed and mentally prepared for the season.

Through 10 games this season, Ingram has improved in all categories. He is averaging 15.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. Comparing this to last year, Ingram is now averaging nearly six more points, one more rebound, and one more steal than last year. More notably, he is shooting much more efficiently as he has a 46/39/68 shooting line for the season.

Last night Ingram ended the game with 20 points, seven rebounds, and one assist. The most impressive part of his performance, however, was his 14 points coming in the last four minutes of the second quarter.
