The Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics renew their rivalry for the first time this season tonight at the TD Garden. This will be a fun one for basketball fans as both teams are coming into the game hot and have plenty of big named players taking the court.
Los Angeles comes into the game with a 5-5 record as they swept their two-game homestand against the Brooklyn Nets and Memphis Grizzlies. However, the Lakers have lost their last two games away from STAPLES Center.
Boston, meanwhile, comes in as the hottest team in the NBA. The Celtics are 9-2 as they have rattled off nine consecutive victories. Boston is rolling right now despite losing Gordon Hayward in the first game of the season.
One matchup to watch tonight is at point guard. Lonzo Ball will have another difficult matchup against Kyrie Irving. Irving is enjoying a strong start to his Celtics career while his old team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, struggle to get things going.

In the frontcourt, there is another great matchup between young, budding stars. Brandon Ingram and Jayson Tatum should square off a lot tonight. Ingram has looked much more confident this season, while Tatum has picked up right where he left off at Duke last season.
The Lakers will be catching a break tonight. Celtics center Al Horford will miss the game because he is being inserted into the concussion protocol. Aron Baynes will probably be inserted into the starting lineup, which means Brook Lopez has a much better matchup tonight.
Lopez comes into the game with 85 points in his last three games as he is beginning to pick things up for the Lakers after a slow start.
Tonight will be a great game to watch. The Lakers and Celtics rivalry has been dormant for years, but with all of the young talent on both teams, there is a chance it can be revived.
