The Los Angeles Lakers were able to snap their losing streak against with a win over the Phoenix Suns on Monday night. In the win, one player really stood out.
On Monday night, the Los Angeles Lakers were able to snap their three-game losing streak and avoid being swept on their road trip. After three straight losses to Eastern Conference teams, the Lakers desperately needed a win against a poor Suns squad.
It may not have been a pretty game for the Lakers, but they were able to come out of Phoenix with a win. In what ended up being a pretty low scoring game in Phoenix, there were some ugly stat lines for the Lakers.
However, one player that really played well was Jordan Clarkson. This season, Clarkson has been one of the best and most consistent players on the Lakers. In the win against the Suns, Clarkson was by far the top performer for the Lakers.
On Monday, Clarkson totaled a team-high 25 points on a very efficient 11-for-19 shooting from the floor. In a game where the Lakers struggled to shoot well as a team, Clarkson was a bright spot.
So far this season, bench production has been key for the Lakers, and Clarkson has been leading the way for the bench unit. With a great game against the Suns, Walton stuck with Clarkson to close out the game, and Lonzo Ball was actually on the bench. As we have seen, Walton is not afraid to roll with the hot hand to finish out games.
With the Lakers’ starting lineup struggling in this game, Clarkson’s performance was key to the team winning. If not for Clarkson, the Lakers would have likely lost in a really ugly game to the Suns. However, Clarkson rose to the occasion and helped lead his team to a win.
