After losing to Milwaukee on Saturday, the Lakers finish off their road trip strong with a 100-93 victory over the Suns.

The Los Angeles Lakers‘ four-game road stretch finally came to a close as the team defeated the Phoenix Suns. The trip, however, was unsuccessful as the team finished 1-3 away from home. Moreover, the team lost its .500 record and now sits at 6-8 for the season.

Although there were was a lot of hype for Lonzo Ball, coming off of his triple-double, the matchup was dominated by the Lakers’ bench. They combined for 46 of the team’s 100 points. As for the Suns, Devin Booker stole the show by scoring 36 points – his sixth 30-point game of the season – on 51.9 percent shooting.

Los Angeles also looked more active and trusting as a team. The three young stars – Ball, Ingram, and Kuzma – combined to shoot 29 percent on nearly a third of the team’s total shots, but they still managed to pull out a win. Furthermore, every player on the team got an opportunity to attempt a shot.

The same could not be said for the Suns as Booker scored more than a third of the team’s total points. Additionally, the team had six out of ten players who finished with five or fewer points.

The Lakers return home to take on the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night. Before we get to that though, let’s take a look at takeaways from the Lakers’ win last night.
