Three-Point Shooting

The Lakers ranked last in the league in three-pointers made and three-point percentage per game heading into last night’s matchup. With averages of 6.8 and 28.9 percent for each category, the flaws from outside have become obvious.

Surprisingly, however, the team seemed to find its missing touch at the perfect time. L.A. let the ball fly from deep as they had a season-high 33 three-point attempts. Although this was a bit extreme, the Lakers’ success rate was also off of the charts.

The team ended up making 14 of its 33 attempts, which was also a season-high. They also shot at a 42.4 percent rate, which was their fourth-highest of the season. Seeing that the team made twice as many threes as they average, and at a 12 percent higher rate, is a bright sign and should be motivating going forward.
