After an embarrassing loss to the Phoenix Suns on Friday, the Los Angele Lakers bounced back with a dominant win over the Denver Nuggets.

The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Denver Nuggets 127-109 on Sunday night. After back-to-back losses to start their homestand, the team needed to rebound with a win and that is what they did.

The Lakers struggled their road trip and started falling back to their losing ways. As they returned home with a record of 6-8, the team only thought about winning. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned as they lost to the Philadelphia 76ers and the Phoenix Suns. Heading into Sunday night, the Lakers found themselves in a hole with a 6-10 record.

Contrarily, the Nuggets have not been having the same issues. Before playing the Lakers, they had won six out of their last eight games. Moreover, one of those two losses was expected as they were playing the Golden State Warriors. The team, however, scored an insane 146 points in their previous outing and beat the New Orleans Pelicans by 32 points.

As far as individuals go, Nikola Jokic has finally emerged as the true leader for the Nuggets. With averages of 16.2 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 4.7 assists, the Joker has cemented his spot as one of the elite centers in the league.

For the Lakers, Lonzo Ball continues to be the center of attention. Although his shooting struggles continue, Zo has displayed his all-around talent through rebounding and assists. With averages of 6.6 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game, he has put himself in the top-five among rookies in both categories. Additionally, Ball has recorded a steal or block in the last seven consecutive games.

The Lakers take on the Chicago Bulls at STAPLES Center on Tuesday, but before we get to that let’s look at our three takeaways from the win over the Nuggets.
