The Los Angeles Lakers signed Vander Blue to a two-way deal in October. Here are three reasons why the Blue signing was a good one.

Back in October when the Los Angeles Lakers were set to make their final cuts tough decisions had to be made. One tough decision was who would receive the offer of their final two-way contract. There were a number of worthy contenders vying for the spot.

Travis Wear, Briante Weber, and Vander Blue all showed promise in the Las Vegas Summer League. They also showed well in offseason workouts. Players such as V.J. Beachem, Stephen Zimmerman were also under consideration as they were on the training camp roster.

Ultimately, Vander Blue was the recipient of the final two-way contract. Before this season, Blue had not appeared in an NBA regular season game since the 2014-15 season when he suited up for the Lakers. He appeared in only two games that season, which was enough for the Lakers to keep him in their pipeline in the G-League.

He has dominated the G-League, formally known as the D-League, for the Lakers affiliate and was ready for the next step in his career. The reigning NBA G-League MVP was a worthy recipient and earned the contract offer.

Still only 25-years old, Blue has a lot to offer. Here are three reasons why this was an outstanding move by the Los Angeles Lakers head honchos.
