NEW YORK, NY – DECEMBER 12: Brandon Ingram /

– Ingram has an off night

Coming into the game against the Knicks on Tuesday, the best player over the last month has been Brandon Ingram. As a player with a ton of potential, it looked like Ingram was starting to show some of that in the month of November and into December. However, Tuesday was an off night for Ingram.

In the loss, Ingram totaled just five points on 2-for-11 shooting from the field. While he did his best to make up for his off night offensively with seven rebounds and five assists, the Lakers rely on Ingram to score. This was the first time since November 13th against the Phoenix Suns that Ingram did not score in double figures.

As a very young player still, consistency is still something that will be a struggle for Ingram from time to time. While he might have career nights like against the Golden State Warriors, those could be followed by off nights like what we saw against the Knicks.

Considering how well Ingram has been playing for the last month, he was due for an off night. Unfortunately for the Lakers, it came in a game that they could have used his normal production. With a big game coming up against LeBron James and the Cavaliers, the Lakers will need Ingram to forget about this night quickly.
