Another player who will need to step up with Lopez out is Larry Nance Jr. Earlier this season, Nance was out for about a month after fracturing a bone in his hand. Despite the timetable for recovery being a bit long, Nance was able to get back on the floor quick.

This season, Nance has spent a lot of time playing alongside Lopez in the starting lineup. Walton clearly likes these two together, and that is one of the reasons why Nance was re-inserted into the starting lineup when he returned from injury.

Now with Lopez out, Nance might have to play some more minutes at the center position. As one of the tallest players on the Lakers, Nance has spent time at center this season. With his strength and speed, Nance brings a lot of energy to the Lakers when he is on the court. Furthermore, he does have some limitations on both ends.

If Nance is going to be playing more minutes with Lopez out, the Lakers will need him to contribute a bit more on the offensive end. While his energy and highlight plays are good, the Lakers will need a bit more than that from him if his minutes increase.
