The Los Angeles Lakers are in the middle of a brutal stretch of their schedule. When will they be able to snap their losing streak?

It’s been almost two weeks since the Los Angeles Lakers have won a game.  On a three-game losing streak, the team has shown a lot of growth.  Facing some of the toughest teams in the league in the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors, being competitive is all you can ask for.

Losing to the Cavs by nine and the Warriors by two in overtime, this team has shown a lot of promise.  With their upcoming games not being any easier the question is, can the Lakers stop this losing streak?

Upcoming Games

After back-to-back games against the Cavs and Warriors the Lakers schedule is still pretty difficult.  Getting ready to face the Houston Rockets tonight, the Warriors again on Friday and Portland on Saturday the Lakers will have faced four playoff-bound teams.  These are also three straight games where they will be going against some of the NBA’s best guards in Chris Paul, Klay Thompson and Damian Lillard.  We’ll see if they can continue to fight against some of the leagues best and pull out a win.

Brook Lopez Injury

In the game on Monday night against the Warriors, Brook Lopez suffered a right ankle sprain.  As of right now it looks like Lopez will miss about three weeks with the injury.  With their starting center and leading shot blocker out they will need other guys to step up.  Look for other big men like Andrew Bogut, Ivica Zubac and even Thomas Bryant to step in for Lopez.  We’ll see what Luke Walton has in store when they tip off against Houston tonight.

Lonzo Ballin’

Although they have lost their last three games, Lonzo Ball has been playing way better in those games.  With 17 points, six assists and eight rebounds against the Knicks his play has only gotten better since then.

Against the Cavs last week he almost got a triple-double with 13 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds in Cleveland.  Even against the defending champion Warriors he played well.  With Curry out Lonzo finished with 16 points six assists and six rebounds. Seven of his points came in OT.  That being said, if Lonzo can continue to play at this level the Lakers will be put in position to win some big games this year.

With games against four playoff bound teams, these games mean a lot going forward, especially with a young team.  We’ll see if they can end this three game skid tonight when they travel to Houston tonight and face the Rockets.
