As the NBA season nears the new year, here are three reasons why the Los Angeles Lakers should trade Julius Randle.

With the new year almost here, the Los Angeles Lakers are right about where everyone thought they would be. Despite some good young talent, the team has had a hard time with consistency this season.

As expected, this is another learning year for the Lakers. Getting young players like Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram to develop into stars is the goal, and they are working toward achieving that.

With the playoffs being unlikely for the Lakers once again, they should be an active team come the trade deadline. As a team that is still rebuilding, the Lakers are looking to create more cap space for next offseason. By doing so, the hope is that they will be able to land two max players.

With that being the goal for the Lakers, it leaves upcoming restricted free agent, Julius Randle in a strange spot. This season, Randle has seen his production increase, but yet his minutes have decreased.

Due to the emergence of Kyle Kuzma, Randle has been a bench player all season for the Lakers, as Luke Walton has started either Kuzma or Larry Nance Jr. at power forward. Even though he was a Top 10 pick by the Lakers a few seasons ago, it doesn’t appear like he isn’t in the future plans.

Since the team isn’t likely going to the postseason or winning anything big this year, trading Randle is certainly going to be an option for them to consider. With the trade deadline a little over two months away already, here are three reasons why the Lakers should trade Randle.
