Despite the Los Angeles Lakers losing eight straight games, the team isn’t planning on giving up anytime soon.
On Wednesday night, the Los Angeles Lakers were embarrassed on a National stage, as the Oklahoma City Thunder blew them out. Coming into the game all of the attention was on Paul George playing in Los Angeles.
Due to the speculation of him possibly signing with the Lakers in offseason, there was a lot of excitement to see him play. Unfortunately for the Lakers, George played very well and the Thunder blew the Lakers out.
In the game, the Lakers were actually tied with the Thunder after one quarter, but the wheels really fell off after that. When the Lakers went down big, they clearly gave up in the lopsided loss.
Despite the awful loss, Luke Walton believes that his team is going to end this losing streak soon. Here’s what he had to say to Harrison Faigen of LakersNation.com.
"“We’re not going to start getting blown out now. We’re not going to start feeling sorry for ourselves. We’re going to get back in the gym tomorrow and we’re going to work,” Walton said.“I believe in the character of our team and we’ll fix it.”"
Luckily for the Lakers, they are starting to get healthier. In the loss to Thunder, Brook Lopez was able to return. While Lopez was on a minutes limit and came off the bench, it was still good to see him working his way back.
In addition to Lopez, Lonzo Ball is also getting close to returning to the Lakers. Without Ball, the Lakers haven’t won a game, and they clearly need their starting point guard back. Even though the losses have started to pile up for the Lakers, things should be getting easier.
As the Lakers get healthier, their schedule also gets much easier. With some winnable games on their home-stand, this losing streak should be coming to an end soon. However, the Lakers will have to earn those wins, as their effort must improve as well.

Hopefully, the Lakers having both Ball and Lopez back in the lineup will be enough for them to stop this losing streak and maybe even string together some wins.
