The Los Angeles Lakers were able to snap their nine-game losing streak on Sunday night with a win over the Atlanta Hawks. In the win, they were very balanced.
It has been a rough month for the Los Angeles Lakers going back to 2017, as they carried over a losing streak from the past calendar year into 2018. Luckily, the losing streak came to an end, as the Lakers were able to blowout out arguably the worst team in basketball in the Atlanta Hawks.
Despite a sluggish start to the game, the Lakers were able to rebound quickly and get the lead by the end of the first quarter. After that, they never looked back. The Lakers ended up having one of their best games of the season, as they totaled 132 points in regulation.
It was very clear that the Lakers were happy to have Lonzo Ball back in the lineup, as he helps set the tone for the Lakers. Ball had a very nice performance in his second game back, as he totaled 13 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists.
For the Lakers, one of the noticeable improvements was on the defensive end. The Lakers were actually able to get stops and rebounds, and Ball was able to push the ball up the court creating easy opportunities and favorable matchups in transition.
In addition to Ball scoring in double figures, seven of his teammates were also able to. Brandon Ingram led the team in scoring with 20, as only Brook Lopez was the only starter not to score in double figures.
Off the bench, Kyle Kuzma, Jordan Clarkson, Josh Hart, and Larry Nance Jr. all scored in double figures. While the big games were partially due to the Lakers playing one of the worst teams in the league, it was also one of the first games that the Lakers have been healthy during this tough stretch.

When healthy, the Lakers do have a good amount of depth, as their bench is one of the best in the league with at least two good scorers coming off of it every game. Now that the losing streak is over, the Lakers will be looking to make it two wins in a row when they face the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night. If they play like they did against the Hawks, the Lakers should be able to get on a winning streak.
