It is time to reassess the 2017-18 Los Angeles Lakers campaign with the five goals given by me at the beginning of the season.

The Los Angeles Lakers wrapped up their 2017-18 regular season with a blowout victory over the rival Los Angeles Clippers. The Lakers finished the season 35-47, their most wins since the 2012-13 season. A big reason for that was the steps taken forward by the young core and performances by the rookies.

A close friend once told me that “if you want life to happen, wait five minutes.” It seemed like yesterday that Kuzma Kuzma broke out on the Summer League scene. Lonzo Ball was struggling to shoot from deep. LaVar Ball would not stop talking. Julius Randle was complaining about his contract.

Yet, here we are. The Lakers ended the 2018 season on a high note, winning against their hometown rival in the Clippers with high intentions for the offseason.

Andre Ingram caught the attention of the basketball world in the process, as the 10-year G League veteran made his NBA debut in the final two games of the season.

L.A. even rallied for a playoff spot, which was achievable a month ago. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Injuries, media pundits, and NBA Twitter reacted harshly to everything L.A. related. Still, the purple and gold continued to fight against the immense pressure.

In the end, I felt secure knowing the Lakers future, with or without a superstar, will be extremely fun to ride through. Did the team meet every goal? Let’s take a trip down memory lane.
