Reason No. 2 – Adding LeBron James to the roster will not help with team chemistry and no team will win a championship without chemistry.

Look Lakers fans, we have a great thing going in Los Angeles. We have a dynamic, seasoned motivational coaching crew led by Luke Walton. He got the team to a record that landed them at No. 11 out of 15 behind the Los Angeles Clippers, with a ton of injuries down the stretch (think Ingram and Ball).

Walton and his coaching staff laid the basis for the future, turning around the careers of Randle and Ingram, and getting Ball more confident (it will take him a few years to come into his own). On top of it all, the Lakers found a star in Kyle Kuzma.

Messing with the team’s chemistry didn’t help the team earn a better record. Pelinka and Magic, as well as Walton, warned us this was a rebuilding year, a year to get experience for our young crew. They set out this season telling fans to be patient. Still some fans expected the playoffs which were probably never in the cards. What Lakers fans did get this season was some enjoyable games and exciting play. The future is bright!

More from Lakers Free Agency

What was most important this year, and you could see it on the bench, and the way the team came together to win games down the stretch was team chemistry. It’s hard to ignore the chemistry between Zo and Kuz, AC and Bryant, the support from Randle and Ingram from the bench. All the G League play has helped a bunch of the players who play on both teams adapt when playing up with the Lakers.

I still haven’t seen a young player step up to lead the team, I was hoping that guy would be Larry Nance Jr., but he was traded. The Lakers have drafted a bunch of quiet guys who don’t talk too much on the court or camera, and that is something that needs fixing. Pelinka and Johnson spoke about the need for both Zo and Ingram to be more vocal. That is what Isaiah Thomas brought to the Lakers, that mamba mentality. He wasn’t worried if anyone liked him or not, he was the Lakers floor general. That’s what this team needs.

Now you could make the case that LeBron is a floor general. I would say he is a floor dictator. It’s going to be his way or the highway, he comes from a different generation, and it is not working on the Cavs. That brings me to reason No. 3.
