The Los Angeles Lakers increased their win total from 2016-17 by nine games this season. In addition, the young core showed a lot of promise, but the season did not come without its lowlights.

When you have a young team like the Los Angeles Lakers, most people don’t expect you to accomplish much. In most people’s eyes, winning championships and making the playoffs are reserved for specific teams. Teams with veteran players and guys who have been in the league that know what it takes to win.

The Los Angeles Lakers have taken incredible strides this year to prove that they are one of the best young teams in the league and that they are on their way up the NBA mountain.

However, as most people know, every team in every sport has moments throughout the season where things aren’t always coming to fruition. The NBA is no stranger to this and even elite teams such as the Golden State Warriors have had their fair share of adversity this season.

When you have a team like the Lakers who are led by a group of young guys all younger than 23-years old, it’s hard not to expect them to make mistakes. There were some growing pains for a team as young as the Lakers.
