Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma had an impressive rookie season. Here are his five best games from the 2017-18 season.

Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma was probably the biggest surprise of the 2017 NBA Draft, as he was one of the best rookies all while being picked late with the 27th overall selection.

Kuzma ended up near the top of the leaderboard among rookies in many categories. He was 2nd in points, 5th in rebounds, and ranked 9th in 3-point percentage among rookies who played at least 50 games.

It’s hard to think what the Lakers’ would have been without Kuzma on the team. He had many games throughout the season where he made a huge impact, as he was tied with Julius Randle and Brandon Ingram for the team lead in points per game.

Kuz had a great offensive game, showing the ability to drive and finish (especially with his now patented sky hook) and an ability to be unconscious from behind the 3-point line. His offensive skill set led to many high scoring games.

Kuzma had little to no expectations for himself from the fans going into the 2017-18. This was due to where he was taken in the draft and the huge spotlight put on his teammate, No. 2 overall pick, Lonzo Ball.

However, the spotlight will now be on him going into the 2018-19 season, as he thrust himself into being a huge piece for this young Lakers team moving forward. He has even taken on a role as the possible star of this team, making media appearance after media appearance lately through the NBA Playoffs’ coverage.

As we look forward to Kuzma’s play next season after he tries to improve this offseason, let’s take a look at his already established skills and work in his top 5 games of the 2017-18 season.
