December 20th: Lakers @ Rockets (W, 122-116)

38 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 12/17 on field goals, 7/10 on 3s

Kuzma’s best game of the season also might be the Lakers’ best win of the season.

As mentioned in the number three game on our list, the Lakers went into the Toyota Center and ended a 14 game winning streak from the Rockets. The win was a team effort, as they overcame a 51 point outing from James Harden. Most credit, however, can be given to Kuzma, who was on fire throughout the game.

Kuzma actually ended the first half shooting 9/9 from the field including 6 of his 7 3-pointers on the night. The 38 points and seven 3-pointers were both season highs for him. Kuzma wasn’t super impressed with himself, pointing out that he had scored 30+ in the summer league. This game was obviously a little more important, but Kuzma defended his mindset.

"“It’s a better team but it’s the same mentality. I’ve got the same mentality every time I step on the court. I try to play my hardest and just be locked in.”"
