The Los Angeles Lakers hope to land a steal in the late second round to continue to build up the young roster that they currently have.

The Los Angeles Lakers will have two selections in the 2018 NBA Draft. A lot of attention has been given to the first round pick, which will be No 25. However, they will also have a second-round pick, No. 47, to fill out the roster.

Usually in the second round, especially late in the second round of NBA Drafts, the players that get selected either doesn’t make the NBA or doesn’t play in the league for long. Sometimes you just might get lucky and potentially land a gem or a player who can be a good rotational piece for years to come.

The Lakers currently hope to land a player that can continue to help build up this young roster with the No. 47 pick. Maybe they’ll even get lucky and draft someone that can play in the league for a long time.

With Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka running things, they have proven that they have an eye for talent and can draft late in rounds. In their first year alone, they drafted Kyle Kuzma and Josh Hart in the late first round and drafted Thomas Bryant in the middle of the second round.

Kuzma and Hart have been deemed steals already while Bryant has shown promise by having a good summer league and was outstanding in the G League this past season. He was even named a G League All-Star.

What will the Lakers be able to do this time around, especially at the 47th pick? Here are five options for the Lakers to look for their second-round pick.
