Recent Lakers rumors have been about their quest to sign LeBron James. A recent report is that he doesn’t care for one of the cities that could be competition.

With the NBA season now officially over, Lakers rumors will be swirling at an all-time high. Due to the Lakers having cap space and an appealing young core, they will be one of the most desirable destinations for free agents this summer.

As the best free agent available, LeBron James is going to likely be one of the top priorities for the Lakers. Since James is the best free agent available this offseason, the Lakers will obviously not be the only other team pursuing him.

So far, the Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers, Houston Rockers, and Cleveland Cavaliers are the most likely destinations for James. However, Marla Ridenour of the Akron Beacon Journal spoke on ESPN LA about how James feels about the city of Houston. Here’s what she had to say with text via LakersNation.com.

"“I think the teams that have been mentioned (76ers, Cavaliers, Lakers, Rockets) are desirable places to live. But I will tell you this, I heard this from his own lips when we were in Houston this season. He does not like Houston as a city. So, that would require him moving to a place that he’s not crazy about.”"

In terms of being ready to be a title contender, the Rockets are probably the best choice for James if they still have James Harden and Chris Paul on the team. While getting the cap space needed to sign James is tricky, it is possible.

Since the Rockets might have been able to beat the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals if Chris Paul didn’t get injured, they would certainly be contenders to do so again next season with James.

Even though the Rockets might present the best chance for James to win, he has to be happy with the city that he is going to. Leaving his home in Cleveland is going to be a big transition for him, and with a family, that will certainly be on his mind.
