– Great two-way player

For the Lakers, while the pursuit of Leonard could lead to some great things, one of the biggest benefits would be the type of player they would be getting. Since entering the league, Leonard has been improving every season, and he has become one of the best two-way players in the league.

With his great physical traits, Leonard came out of college with the expectations of being a great defender. He quickly was able to live up to those expectations, and he has been able to work on his offensive game and become one of the best scorers in the league. In the two seasons prior to being injured this season, Leonard was able to average over 20 points per game on one of the best teams in the league those years.

Leonard has been named the Defensive Player of Year twice and has been on the All-NBA Defensive First-Team three times already in his career. With the ability to score 25 points a game and lock down an opposing team’s best player, Leonard is truly a unique talent.

Having a player like Leonard on any team instantly makes them better. Finding someone who can do what Leonard can on both ends of the court is extremely rare, and is what makes him so special.
