4. Landry Shamet

If the Lakers are looking for a sharpshooter in this year’s point guard class, then they should look no further than Wichita State’s Landry Shamet. Shooting the three is his best attribute, and for two seasons in a row, he shot better than 40 percent from beyond the arc.

His junior season is when the rest of his game really came together and he averaged 14.9 points and 5.2 assists per game. He was a driving force in leading the Shockers to a 25-8 record last season.

He would be an ideal candidate to play off the ball alongside Lonzo Ball, and he could also run the offense if needed for the second unit. Shamet has the height to get his shot off against most guards, but at 190 pounds he will have to bulk up to defend bigger two guards at the next level.

Currently, he is being projected to go in the late first round, so he should be available when the Lakers are picking at the end of round one. If they pass on him in that spot he is unlikely to be available when they pick again in the middle of the second round.

The Lakers were second to last in the league in 3-point percentage and dead last in the league in free throw shooting percentage last season. If they picked Shamet, he would immediately help improve those percentages.
