2. Jalen Brunson

One of the best players in all of college basketball last season was Villanova point guard, Jalen Brunson. He averaged an impressive 18.9 points and 4.2 assists per game last year, and helped carry the Wildcats to their second National Championship in three seasons.

He also won almost every prominent individual award last season as well. Bringing home the AP player of the year, the NABC POY, the Naismith, and the Wooden award just to name a few.

All that success and somehow he is still projected to be taken outside the lottery come draft night. If he is on the board when the Lakers pick in the first round, then they should not hesitate to pull the trigger to pick one of the best and most experienced players in the draft.

If they did make that selection, he would be reunited with his former teammate Josh Hart who won a championship with him in 2016. They could be a lethal combination off of the bench together and the Lakers would instantly have the backcourt depth that they desire.

In the latest FanSided mock draft, it had the Lakers selecting Brunson with the 25th pick in the first round. It would not be a surprise if the Lakers did make that selection because he has been in the conversation since the offseason started.

He would be the best option out of all these suggestions if the Lakers end up building a super team this offseason. He is the readiest to step in and contribute on a contending team because of all his championship experience.
