Numbers Never Lie

Just looking at career numbers, LeBron will pass him in career All-NBA selections, he will pass him in points (on far fewer attempts), and he will probably beat him in FG percentage and 3-point percentage as he has comfortable leads in both categories right now. On top of that, LeBron already has Kobe beat in MVPs, Finals MVPs, assists, rebounds, and blocks.

For the fans who want to bring up Kobe’s five rings compared to LeBron’s current total of three — just wait. LeBron may be entering his 16th season next year, but he has shown no signs of stopping. It’s still feasible that LeBron could win a couple more championships.

Here’s the main question I direct to the Lakers fans who don’t want LeBron on the team. He’s already had a better career than Kobe as it stands, so why not let LeBron take a chance at those rings while wearing the purple-and-gold?

If LeBron comes then Paul George would probably also come. Along with that, the Lakers might trade for Kawhi Leonard. At the very least some respectable veterans would come and sign for less to play alongside LeBron James. Those veterans paired with LeBron, George and the Lakers’ talented young core could propel the team to championship contention.

Are those same anti-LeBron Lakers fans still going to protest him if that happens? I would hope not given how annoying it is to not make the playoffs year-after-year.
