The Portland Trail Blazers had an excellent season in 2017-18. However, the playoffs put a sour taste in their mouths to end the season, as they were swept out of the first round by the New Orleans Pelicans.

One of the issues that Portland had was relying too heavily on Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum in the backcourt. So, with the No. 24 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, Portland addresses that need with Jerome Robinson.

Robinson is one of the more underrated prospects in this year’s class. Playing for an average Boston College team didn’t get him much exposure, but he produced. Robinson averaged 20.7 points with 3.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. He scored all over the court, and efficiently, as he made 48.5 percent of his shots, 40.9 percent from the 3-point line and 83 percent from the foul line.

His versatility to play either backcourt spot would make him a good fit for Portland. He could play alongside either Lillard or McCollum, giving them another scoring option to help lessen the load on their one-two punch.

Robinson isn’t the biggest player, which could cause some issues defensively. However, he is athletic enough to keep up at the next level. Robinson would provide an immediate boost to the Blazers second unit.
