Small Forward. Mizzouri. Michael Porter Jr. . 4. player. 211.

The Memphis Grizzlies are having difficulties getting players to come in for workouts. That could make this selection a wild card. With Mike Conley and Marc Gasol locked into long-term deals, the Grizzlies will select Michael Porter Jr. to give them a building block on the wing.

Porter has some red flags of his own. He is dealing with a hip injury that cut his workouts short, which some people believe stems from his back injury suffered in his first game at Missouri. Given the position that Memphis is in, taking a swing on Porter would be worthwhile.

Porter is an established scorer that can fill it up from around the court. He would help take the scoring pressure off of Conley and Gasol immediately. NBA teams were hoping that to see him develop more defensively and as a playmaker, but the injury robbed them of that opportunity.

Given what the organization is dealing with in Chandler Parsons, who is being shopped, selecting an injury prone player could be a tough sell to the fan base. However, Porter has a very high ceiling and could develop into the new face of the franchise if he is able to remain healthy.
