. Guard. Alabama. Collin Sexton. 9. player. 27

With the ninth overall pick, the New York Knicks will be on the clock. It was a tough year for the Knicks last season, as they lost Kristaps Porzingis to a season-ending knee injury. Porzingis’ status for the upcoming season is certainly going to be a question mark, as it could be a tough year once again in New York.

However, the Knicks will have a chance to draft a talented player in the Top-10, and they will be taking Alabama guard Collin Sexton.  In his freshman season, Sexton was one of the top players in the country for the Crimson Tide.

Sexton was able to average 19.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. Sexton was a great scorer in the SEC, and that is something that the Knicks could use at the guard position. While they value Porzingis as their franchise player, they do need to add some talent to compliment him well.

With Sexton’s ability to score, he could become a good partner for Porzingis in the future. Even though the Knicks used a high draft pick on a guard last year in Frank Ntilikina, he hasn’t shown many signs that he will be a scorer in the NBA. However, he brings a lot on the defensive end, and could possibly play alongside Sexton in the future.
