Recent Lakers rumors have been about LeBron James preferring to play in Los Angeles compared to Houston.

With the NBA Draft almost here, there have been plenty of Lakers rumors about who the Los Angeles Lakers will be taking with the 25th overall pick. After drafting well in recent years, the Lakers will certainly be trying to add another solid young player to their core.

However, recent Lakers rumors have been about the possibility of them creating some sort of super team with LeBron James and some other All-Stars. With another Finals loss, it certainly seems like there is a growing belief that James will be leaving Cleveland in order to create a super team that can defeat the Golden State Warriors.

One of the potential destinations for James this offseason was thought to be the Houston Rockets. If not for Chris Paul getting injured, the Rockets might have been able to knock out the Warriors in the Western Conference Finals this past season.

However, on the Stephen A. Smith show, he recently spoke about whether or not James is interested in Houston. Here’s what he had to say with text via LakersNation.com.

"“According to my sources, several things are happening. A) Chris Paul is telling folks LeBron ain’t trying to come to Houston. He wants to be in L.A. These are things I’m getting through the grapevine. Chris Paul is saying LeBron wants to be in L.A.”"

While James might want to play with one of his best friends in Chris Paul, he doesn’t have to join the Rockets to do so. Paul has an option that could result in him being a free agent this offseason, and might possibly want to play in Los Angeles again, this time with James.

James certainly has a desire to be on the best team as possible, as he wants to get his ring count up. However, he also likely wants to enjoy the city that he is going to playing in. As a good friend of James, this news from Paul is certainly substantial if its true.
