Recent Lakers rumors are that the team held a private individual workout with Villanova guard Jalen Brunson.

There have been plenty of Lakers rumors over the past few days about the NBA Draft, as they have worked out plenty of players. With a lot of possibilities for the Lakers in free agency this offseason, it is hard to judge what positions that they will need, as it all depends on who they sign.

Since there is a good chance of a lot of potential changes for the Lakers, they might be looking to draft the best player available. The Lakers have worked out a lot of players, and with three picks, it will be interesting to see if they end up using them all.

According to Bill Oram, the Lakers have reportedly held an individual workout that they did not announce.

This is certainly an interesting development that the Lakers not only held an individual workout with Brunson, but that they also didn’t announce having it. Brunson could certainly be in range for the Lakers when they are on the clock at 25, and he could help a weakness from last season.

Even though the Lakers just drafted Lonzo Ball to be their point guard of the future, there was a glaring weakness at the position behind him. When Ball missed time with injury, the Lakers had to use players like Tyler Ennis and Alex Caruso.

Brunson was the National Player of the Year and won a National Championship last season for Villanova. As a point guard, Brunson would be able to help run the second unit effectively for the Lakers, and also be an upgrade over Ennis or Caruso.

In addition to being able to be a solid backup point guard, Brunson would be able to play with Ball due to his ability to stretch the floor. Brunson shot over 40 percent from three-point range last season and that would also help a need of the Lakers.

Brunson is a player that was able to accomplish a lot as a college player and should be able to come in and help a team right away. For the Lakers, getting a player like Brunson at the end of the first round would be a solid addition to their young core.
