With the 47th overall pick, the Los Angeles Lakers selected Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk. What was the reaction on Twitter for this pick?

After using the 39th overall pick on a draft and stash player, the Los Angeles Lakers continued to address their need for shooters with the selection of Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk. The Lakers added some size and shooting in the first round with the selection of Moritz Wagner.

Shooting was certainly a weakness for the Lakers last season, and they added two of the better shooters at their respective positions by taking Wagner and Svi. Despite being at Kansas for four seasons, Svi just turned 21-years-old.

In his senior season at college, Svi really took a big step forward for Kansas, as he averaged 14.6 points per game. Where Svi really shined was from behind the three-point line, as he shot 44.4 percent while attempting 6.6 three-pointers per game.

While Svi was forced to play out of position a bit in college, he will likely be playing shooting guard for the Lakers. Even though Svi is 6’8” his wingspan is only 6’5”, which could be a problem on the defensive end.

We recently asked fans what they thought of the selection of Mykhailiuk, here’s what the reaction was.

As you can see, many are pleased with the selection of Svi, as he will really improve the team’s ability to shoot. The Lakers were one of the worst shooting teams in the league from behind the arc. However, Svi is arguably the best shooter in the draft and that was clearly a priority for the Lakers in the draft.

While he might be a liability on the defensive end, the Lakers do have a lot of length at point guard with Lonzo Ball and on the wing with Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma that might be able to help Svi.
