Los Angeles Lakers President Magic Johnson made a bold statement regarding the Lakers being able to sign stars.

Since taking over as the President of the Los Angeles Lakers, Magic Johnson has done an excellent job. Not only has he added to the young core of the Lakers, but he has also been able to create a good amount of cap space pursue stars.

The Lakers have had some tough years recently, but Magic and Rob Pelinka have been able to create a lot of hope in Los Angeles. This offseason will be the first that the Lakers have a chance to be big players with Magic running the show, as last offseason they were preserving cap space.

With some stars like LeBron James, Paul George, and DeMarcus Cousins headlining the class, the Lakers will have a chance to add not only one but two All-Stars. Expectations are pretty high for the Lakers this offseason to land a star, and Magic Johnson recently made a bold statement regarding that.

This is a bold statement by Johnson, who is obviously very confident that the Lakers will be able to pursue a star to come to Los Angeles. Unlike in previous attempts, the Lakers have a young, improving core of players that they are able to sell to these free agents.

With players like Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Lonzo Ball, and Josh Hart just beginning their careers in the NBA, the future is certainly bright in Los Angeles. While many would like the Lakers to make big moves this offseason, they might have even a better chance of recruiting free agents in the 2019 offseason.

With players like Kawhi Leonard and Klay Thompson being in that class, both would certainly qualify as stars. The statement by Magic is a bold one, but at the same time, he certainly believes that he can accomplish this.

Magic came to Los Angeles with the goal of turning the Lakers around. So far, he has done a great job. If he is able to add a star or two, the Lakers will once again be very competitive in the Western Conference. Unless something crazy happens, Magic shouldn’t have to worry about his job as President of the Lakers.
