No. 1: LeBron James

After losing in the Finals for the third time in four seasons, it was clear that LeBron James was planning on opting out of his contract and testing the open market. He already narrowed his list of teams down to four teams Houston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and Cleveland, but by now it is probably between the Lakers or the Cavs.

Brian Windhorst, who is always breaking the latest LeBron news believes that he will make a decision sooner in the free agency period rather than later. His family reportedly will also be a big factor in his decision, and there have been rumors his son was looking to enroll in a high school near Los Angeles.

Wherever LeBron James ends up going will pretty much decide the fate of the Lakers free agency plans. If he decides to come to LA, he surely will not come alone and a super team is likely to form with the Lakers.

Recent reports indicate if the Lakers pull off a trade for Kawhi Leonard, it would essentially seal the deal for James to sign with the team as well. If he does not decide to make that move, then the Lakers are probably better off building around their young pieces instead of trading everything away for Kawhi.

LeBron James would fit Los Angeles like a glove both on and off the court. He would be the perfect protégé to team up with Magic Johnson because he is essentially the Magic of his era. If James ends up in Hollywood, Magic would have not only kept his promise to land a star, he will have reinvigorated ShowTime once again.
