Los Angeles Lakers tickets are going to be tough to come by with LeBron James in town.

The Los Angeles Lakers are always a hot ticket in Tinseltown. They are one of the most popular sports franchises in any league despite having some poor seasons in recent years. However, that poor performance should come to an end this upcoming season.

The Lakers were one of the biggest winners in free agency this summer. Los Angeles was able to land superstar LeBron James with a four-year, $154 million deal. Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka were promising to land a superstar and they came through on the promise.

James is arguably the most recognizable basketball player on the planet. He has been in the NBA Finals eight consecutive years, winning three championships. The winning pedigree that Lakers fans are used to witnessing on the court should be coming back with James in town.

In addition to James, the Lakers have an impressive young core. Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma and Josh Hart have fans excited for what can be a sustained time of success. With James added to that group, fans are very excited.

James was not the only player that Johnson and Pelinka added this offseason. Veterans JaVale McGee, Lance Stephenson and Rajon Rondo were also signed. All three are playoff tested and will help the young Lakers grow. Los Angeles also re-signed shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope.

With an improved roster and the playoffs likely for the first time since 2013, fans are understandably excited. Just how excited are they? That can be reflected in the team’s ticket prices.

The secondary ticket market has exploded for the Lakers. Preseason and season opener tickets have skyrocketed in price according to Ticket IQ.

Based on those numbers, a preseason ticket that you could have purchased for about $25 last year is going for $115 now. To get into STAPLES Center on opening night, you will need a small loan with the average price of $1,500.
