The Los Angeles Lakers recently signed Michael Beasley to a one-year deal. What will he bring to the table for the Lakers?

It has been an extremely busy offseason for the Los Angeles Lakers as expected this summer. The Lakers made a big splash by signing LeBron James to a four-year deal. Adding James was the No.1 priority for the Lakers, as they were in a need of a superstar. By getting arguably the best player in the NBA, they accomplished that.

Since signing James, the Lakers have filled out the roster with some notable veterans. Shortly after signing James, the Lakers then signed Kenatvious Caldwell-Pope, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, and Rajon Rondo.

Most of the veterans that the Lakers have signed have either won NBA Championships, or had success in the playoffs. As they try to dethrone the Golden State Warriors, adding winners has been a goal for the Lakers.

Even though free agency has died down, the Lakers have signed Michael Beasley to a one-year deal.

The addition of Beasley will be giving the Lakers some more depth for their bench, as he can be instant offense. With the New York Knicks last season, Beasley split time as both a starter and reserve off the bench. However, he was able to put together a really good season.

In 22.3 minutes per game, Beasley was able to average 13.2 points and 5.6 rebounds. Considering he was played less than 25 minutes a night on average, these were some impressive season averages for Beasley. Also, he was quite efficient as a scorer, as he shot just over 50 percent from the field and just under 40 percent from three-point range.

Beasley will be a welcomed addition to the frontcourt for the Lakers as he will be able to provide them with some rebounding and also the ability to shoot the ball from beyond the arc. Since the Lakers are likely going to be using a lot of small-ball lineups, we could certainly see Beasley thrive in the up-tempo pace. Overall, Beasley should be a nice addition for the Lakers.
