Los Angeles Lakers: 4 Reasons why
Los Angeles Lakers: 4 Reasons why /

He may be a bit goofy, he may be a bit uncoordinated, but Javale Mcgee should turn out to be a valuable role player for the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Los Angeles Lakers have remade their roster this offseason. In the 48 hours after Lebron James decided to take his talents to Venice Beach, the Los Angeles Lakers signed three veterans. Some of those signings made some people scratch their heads and wonder “why?”

Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson and JaVale McGee all agreed to one-year deals in early July and were soon joined by Michael Beasley. All of them have somewhat checkered pasts, leading some to call them the “Suicide Squad”.

While Rondo and Stephenson are known for being prickly, McGee has been considered more of a court jester. He has been a regular on Shaquille O’Neal‘s segment on TNT, Shaqtin’ A Fool, over the last several years, and has provided NBA fans across our nation with plenty of laughs.

So it’s easy to forget that McGee has been a productive NBA player over the years in certain roles. He has the ability to bring some real value to the purple and gold this season with the team overhauling the center position.

But, what exactly can he do for this team, not to mention its fan base that has been in a deep famine for the past five years? Here are four reasons that McGee was a good signing for the Lakers this offseason.
