Los Angeles Lakers: 3 reasons Lance Stephenson was a bad signing
The Los Angeles Lakers signed veteran shooting guard Lance Stephenson in free agency. Here are three reasons that the signing was a poor one.
The Los Angeles Lakers may have made the best free agent signing in 2018 landing LeBron James, but they followed that move with some questionable acquisitions. Those acquisitions included JaVale McGee, Rajon Rondo, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Michael Beasley, and longtime-foe-of-LeBron, Lance Stephenson.
Aside from KCP, the aforementioned signings all have colorful personalities and have had plenty of meme-worthy moments on the basketball court. It’ll be interesting to see if all of the extreme personalities will mesh within the locker-room and on the court. Along with their individual personalities, each player also presents shortcomings individually in regards to their actual basketball play.
The player who, in my opinion, presents the most negatives in his play is Lance Stephenson. I’ll talk about why I think the signing will be bad for the Lakers in the following slides, even if his contract is a small 1-year, $4.5 million deal.
Not mentioned within these three reasons is Lance Stephenson’s problematic past, which definitely shouldn’t be overlooked when arguing against his signing
