Recent Los Angeles Lakers rumors involve LaVar Ball, who has made some outlandish comments once again.
Los Angeles Lakers rumors have slowed down with their roster virtually set for training camp. However, LaVar Ball has given us something to talk about.
I know a lot of people can’t stand to hear Lonzo Ball‘s father, LaVar speak. I read the same thing over and over again.
“Can anyone get this guy to shut up?”
Let me clear the air for anyone who is tired of hearing him speak such confident nonsense…no.
It’s obvious that LaVar Ball needs help in getting himself (not Lonzo) some attention during the NBA season and I Ronald Agers will be right here at the ready to help him out.
You see I, for some reason, like this guy. I was watching the NBA draft when Lonzo Ball was drafted second. LaVar got interviewed. A secret for you all. After Lonzo was drafted, the rest of the draft put me to sleep. Believe me, the things he says are so outlandish, its really entertaining. That being said…
So LIVE from the Lake Show Life website on the FanSided network, I present the first reality blog on the internet. It is called…
“As the Ball Rolls”!!!!
It is a story about a frustrated man who never made it in sports and put all of his hopes and dreams into his sons and builds a fledgling corporation of a shoe company, a reality show on Facebook and a basketball league. Granted all of his businesses are holding on by a thread (along with Lonzo’s future with the Lakers) but he is going against all odds to hold it together. To do that he expertly says the most outlandish things to create publicity.
The show is performed at the Staples Center and surrounding NBA arenas, starring…
LaVar Ball- The man who has boldly gone where no overbearing parent has gone before. He is the blueprint of future parents willing their child into a situation where Spike Lee has to be thinking about doing a sequel to the movie “He Got Game”. Jesus Shuttlesworth has to be rolling over in his grave over how this scenario is playing out. He has stolen all of the headlines. Got a guest spot on the WWE Monday Night Raw show and countless radio and TV interviews.
Lonzo Ball- Lavar’s son. About 12 months ago, the Lakers franchise was smiling at him almost as brightly as the other co-star in this feature (more on him later). The Lakers front office handed him the keys to the franchise, the city was his. Fans didn’t even talk about his cross between Jamaal Wilkes and totally broken down form on his jump shot. After a rocky campaign in which the Lakers missed the playoffs (for like the umpteenth time this decade), a real superstar came in…
LeBron James– The star of the show (SHHH! Don’t tell LaVar.) The savior, the reason why the reality blog will work. He is also the nemesis of LaVar Ball. Can’t have reality blogs without controversy.
Magic Johnson– The Godfather. The man overseeing everything. He is the man that has the Balls’ future in his hands. He is the man that took the keys from Lonzo (much to LaVar’s chagrin) and gave them to LeBron James.
Our first episode of “As the Ball Rolls” started earlier this week when Lavar Ball was on The Cruz Show. LaVar was asked about the addition of the prized free agent to the Los Angeles roster, LeBron James.
Most people would gush over how wonderful it was to have a player of LeBron James’ caliber to join the team. Plus he could be a mentor and help Lonzo take his game to the next level. At least joke and say…”I’m getting my playoff tickets early…”
Well, LaVar Ball is not most people.
LaVar stated on the show that the Lakers are still Lonzo’s team. Don’t believe me?
"“You can say what you want, but we know what it is,” LaVar said. “I told you, Lonzo didn’t go to Cleveland. LeBron came here to L.A. We already over here.”"
Cut to the scene a few weeks ago when Magic Johnson had a secret meeting with LeBron James about coming to the Lakers. They talked about the future with the franchise and after LeBron signed that four-year, $154 million dollar contract. Magic Johnson told reporters that LeBron James would be a part of the decision making process.
That means the Lakers kind of need LeBron James’ services a little more than LeBron needs the Lakers. Especially considering his resume…
Eight straight Finals appearances.
Three NBA Championships
Multiple Gold Medals.
Perennial All-Star.
Considered the best player in basketball.
Most famous player on the planet.
The man just opened a school. What NBA player opens a school?
Lonzo Ball, according to Basketball Reference.com (They said this not me! Don’t tell LaVar!) averaged 10.2 points a game on the strength of 36 percent shooting from the floor. Add 30 percent from the 3-point line leads to the point laid out that Lonzo can’t shoot.

He averaged seven assists, but he struggled at times on the defensive end. Throw in the fact that Brandon Ingram is cherished more by the franchise with his upside and Kyle Kuzma outperforming young Ball last season…LaVar’s statements might have been well…
Misguided, delusional, hopeful, ridiculous?
Well, Big Daddy Ball did not stop there. He stated…loudly, that LeBron James had nothing that he could teach Lonzo about the game of basketball.
Here’s where we would place that reality show music when controversy creeps in, but that is not in the budget yet.
We could go over all of LeBron James’s accomplishments but the season (NBA and this reality blog) would be over by the time we finished. Plus the last thing we heard about Lonzo was he made it through knee surgery.
If anyone is shocked over these comments, you will have to tune in to the next episode of “As the Ball Rolls”
It has humor, jealousy, controversy and all the ingredients needed to distract the fact the it will take the Lakers about a month to six weeks to gel and get the chemistry needed to make a playoff run.
Do you think LaVar has enough to carry this reality blog?
Remember…
The man stated that he could have beaten Michael Jordan one-on-one in his prime even though Michael Jordan knocked down the jumper that gave UNC a national championship.
He was National College Player of the Year.
He was a lottery pick.
He won six NBA titles.
He is world famous…like years after his third retirement.
Multiple gold medal winner. The last one was on the Dream Team. He was asked to play first. I think Magic Johnson can back me up. He was on that team too.
He has a shoe line too. That Air Jordan brand that worked out okay. I hear the shoes are cheaper than that Big Baller Brand too. I’m sure one of LaVar’s sons has a pair somewhere in their closet.
He owns an NBA team in his hometown state called the Charlotte Hornets.
But hey, LaVar Ball averaged two points in college.
Tune in next time for…
“As The Ball Rolls”.
