The Los Angeles Lakers have spent enough time rebuilding and soon the dynasty will begin.

LeBron and the core-four

LeBron James is now with the Los Angeles Lakers, which immediately makes the team at the very least a playoff contender. It’s even fair to say the addition of the 33-year-old sets the Laker dynasty in motion.

LeBron will make a very positive impact on the young core consisting of Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart. His work ethic alone is astounding and if that begins to rub off on the rest of the young talent then expect quite an interesting season.

This isn’t to say that the 14x All-Star joining the Lakers will make the other players elite immediately, but it helps to point them in that direction.

It’s important to understand that this Lakers team is being built for the 2019-2020 season more so than this upcoming season. Next summer will be quite important with all of the talent set to enter free agency.

The question “Where do the Lakers go from here?” is a great one. This season is essentially experimental. What works for this team? What doesn’t? What kind of player should they try to add next summer?

It’s like cooking. You may over-season or even under-season food, but the next time around you make an adjustment and figure out just the right amount.

It’s most likely that the Lakers will want to add more shooting to the team at some point, but they won’t know until the currently constructed roster is put to the test.

Adding LeBron to the Lakers roster puts the team significantly closer to a product that can become a dynasty. Whether acquiring the four-time MVP was a foregone conclusion or not, Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka exceeded Jeanie Buss’ expectations.
