Los Angeles Lakers point guard, Lonzo Ball, believes that he and LeBron James can do something big this year.

There is no denying that the addition of LeBron James has sparked hope for the Los Angeles Lakers. Getting one of the best players in the NBA to sign with the team has caused a lot of excitement in Los Angeles, and it also makes the Lakers a much better team.

While getting LeBron was huge for the Lakers, the team will need more than just one player to accomplish something special this coming season. Last season, we saw the young core of the Lakers play really well, and the hope is that they take another step forward this season.

One of the players in the young core that is excited to see what the Lakers can do this season is Lonzo Ball. Recently, Ball spoke to Elex Michaelson of Good Day L.A. Here’s what he had to say with text via Anthony Irwin of SilverScreenAndRoll.com.

"“I ran into him two times, but any time a player like that comes to the team obviously it’s going to spark something for sure. Guys have been in there working extra hard for him, and for themselves as well. We think we can do something big this year.”"

There is no denying that the addition of James has certainly sparked something with the young Lakers. Guys like Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, and Josh Hart know that they have a chance to play with one of the greatest players of all-time, and they don’t want to disappoint.

James is one of the hardest workers in the NBA, and that is something that the young core is looking to become as well.

Even though Ball took a lot of heat in his rookie season for his poor shooting percentages, he had a very good rookie year. Being able to record a triple-double as a rookie is no easy feat, and Ball was able to average 10-7-7 last season.

Ball’s shooting percentages should go up across the board in his second season, as he is a much better shooter than he showed last year. If Ball and the young core take another step forward this season, the Lakers can certainly accomplish something special like he believes.
